When a dedicated development team makes sense
A dedicated development team fits when the work is ongoing, the priorities will change, and you want engineers who accumulate knowledge of your product rather than a project that ends. Our engineers join your sprints, your repository and your tracker, while Dezigndia handles selection, ramp-up, cover and retention.
A global AI SaaS company worked with a team of data engineers, analytics specialists, full stack developers and product consultants for 24 months, which is the kind of continuity this model is built for. If your need is a defined deliverable with a fixed scope and date, custom software development is usually a better fit than a team.
-
The roadmap has outgrown the in-house team
Hiring locally takes months per role while the product roadmap keeps moving.
-
A front-end squad is needed this quarter
A funded SaaS company needs capacity without committing permanent headcount before product-market fit is clear.
-
Contractors from several agencies, nobody accountable
Quality is inconsistent and no one owns continuity across the delivery team.
-
You want developers abroad without a foreign entity
Setting up an entity, payroll and equipment just to hire dedicated developers is more than the need justifies.
-
One skill gap is blocking a release
React performance work or test automation is missing, and the release waits for it.
-
Previous engineers rotated off every few months
Each departure took the product context with it.

What our staff augmentation services provide
-
Front-end and back-end engineers
React and Angular front-end developers, and Node.js and Python back-end developers, working in your tools on your priorities.
-
Mobile, QA and data roles
Flutter and native mobile engineers, QA and test automation engineers, and data engineers.
-
Squads that carry a product area
A tech lead, a designer and a product analyst can join where you want the team to carry a whole product area.
-
Accountability around every engineer
A delivery lead owns performance, leave cover and planned handover. Equipment, security policy, payroll and local employment are handled here.
-
Sourcing through HireNXT
The group's AI-vetted talent platform, built around skill-graph matching and compliance checks, means hard-to-fill roles do not start from a blank job post.
How we set up a team to last
- 01
Role profiles before resumes
We agree with your lead what each engineer owns, the stack depth needed and what good looks like at 90 days. Most providers skip this, which is why strong interviewees often struggle in the codebase.
- 02
You make the final call
Candidates are screened technically by us, then interviewed by you. Nobody joins your team without your approval.
- 03
A ramp-up with a real exit test
Within one to two weeks each engineer sets up the environment, walks the architecture with one of your engineers and merges a small real change, so fit problems show while they are cheap to fix.
- 04
Overlap hours are agreed, not assumed
India is 9.5–10.5 hours ahead of US Eastern and 3.5–5.5 hours ahead of the UK and central Europe. US teams get a fixed daily overlap window, usually their morning.
- 05
Continuity is planned
Every engineer has a documented backup on the account's knowledge, and notice periods on both sides are long enough for a proper handover.
Where dedicated teams go wrong
-
Treating the team as a ticket queue
The team joins planning and reviews, the same as your in-house engineers, so they learn why a feature exists.
-
Engineers rotated to newer accounts, taking your context with them
Retention on your account is part of our delivery lead's job, and any replacement comes with a handover overlap.
-
No one on the provider side is accountable
When an engineer underperforms, the delivery lead owns that conversation. If coaching does not fix it within an agreed window, we replace the engineer.
-
Hidden subcontracting
Every engineer on your team is employed through Dezigndia or the group and named in the contract. Seats are never passed to third parties.
-
Unclear IP and access
All work product is assigned to you from the first commit, repositories live in your accounts, and access is revoked the day someone rolls off.
-
Too many people, too early
We add two or three engineers, let them settle into your review culture, then grow. The first engineers help onboard the next, which takes load off your senior staff.
How it runs
From first call to production.
-
Define the roles
We agree with your engineering lead what each role owns, the stack depth required, the overlap hours needed and how success will be judged at 90 days.
-
Select
Candidates are screened technically on our side first. You interview a short list and make the final call on every engineer.
-
Ramp up
The first week or two covers environments, architecture walkthroughs and a first small ticket merged, so problems with fit show early.
-
Run
Engineers work in your sprints. Our delivery lead checks in with your manager on output, blockers and team health every month.
-
Adjust or scale
Roles are added, changed or wound down with notice periods agreed at the start, and knowledge is handed over before anyone leaves.
Team and timeline
6 months+
for most engagements, often several years
Indicative. Actual duration depends on requirements and complexity, and can change.

Engagement model
Dedicated Team: monthly engagement per engineer with an agreed notice period, sized from one engineer to a full cross-functional squad. Time & Material suits short, specific skill gaps.
Good to know
Billed monthly per engineer with an agreed notice period, from one augmented developer to a squad of a tech lead, three to five engineers, QA and part-time design. Past eight to ten engineers, consider an ODC.

FAQ
Dedicated Development Team: common questions.
What is a dedicated development team?
It is a group of engineers who work only on your product for an extended period, inside your processes and under your technical direction. The provider employs them and handles hiring, payroll, equipment, cover and retention. Unlike a project team, the scope is not fixed in advance. You set priorities sprint by sprint, as you would with your own staff.
What is the difference between staff augmentation services and a dedicated team?
Staff augmentation usually fills individual seats in your existing team, often for a defined period or skill gap. A dedicated team is a longer-term unit, sometimes with its own lead, QA and design, that carries a product area. Both work under your direction. The choice depends on whether you have the engineering management capacity to absorb individuals, or need a team that manages itself day to day.
How quickly can we hire React developers through you?
For common profiles such as React, Node.js or QA engineers, a short list is typically ready within one to two weeks of agreeing the role, and engineers can start once your interviews are done and access is set up. Niche combinations take longer. We would rather show you two strong candidates late than five weak ones on time.
Who owns the code and IP written by a dedicated team?
You do, from the first commit. The contract assigns all intellectual property created during the engagement to you, and engineers work in repositories and accounts you control. When someone rolls off, access is revoked the same day and a handover note is written, so nothing about your product depends on our infrastructure.
What happens if a developer in the dedicated team is not a good fit?
Tell your delivery lead, and we address it directly. If coaching will not fix it within a short, agreed window, we replace the engineer and cover the handover overlap so your sprint is not left short. The ramp-up period is designed to surface fit problems early, before the engineer holds knowledge that is hard to transfer.
How soon is a new engineer productive on our codebase?
Usually within one to two weeks of access being granted. The ramp-up ends with a small real change merged through your normal pull request rules. The biggest variable sits on your side: laptop and account provisioning, security onboarding, and time from the engineer who walks them through the architecture. Having those ready on day one shortens the ramp-up more than anything we do.
